10 years of cycling R&D. One team. End-to-end.
Our Technology

Built on a Decade of Real Cycling IP.

Skillion’s technology portfolio spans drivetrains, cameras, IoT systems, AI models, and edge-compute hardware. It wasn’t built in a lab, it was built on bikes, tested on roads, deployed to fleets, and refined over ten years of real-world use.

That grounding in reality is what makes the difference. Our IP isn’t theoretical. It’s the kind that comes from having shipped products, learned from riders, and gone back to engineer something better.

01

AI & Computer Vision

Our most advanced current capability. We build AI systems that run on the bike, classifying threats, detecting objects, and delivering real-time alerts to riders without relying on a phone or cloud connection. Our edge-compute approach means the intelligence lives in the device, making it faster, more reliable, and independent of connectivity.

We have been developing and patenting AI camera systems for cycling since 2018. The training data, model architectures, and real-world validation behind that work represent a head start that is very difficult to replicate.

02

The Skillion Ride System (SRS)

The SRS was a multi-function ride platform developed and deployed with a commercial e-bike fleet in Australia. Combining navigation, safety alerts, performance tracking, and AI-assisted rider assistance in a single integrated system, the SRS represented one of the earliest real-world deployments of smart ride technology at scale.

03

The Skillion Drive

A proprietary CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) drivetrain engineered specifically for the e-bike market. Designed to be simple, low-cost to manufacture, and capable of a gear range exceeding 500%, the Skillion Drive addressed a genuine gap in what was available to e-bike manufacturers: smooth, wide-range gearing without the cost or complexity of conventional systems.

04

IoT & Bike Connectivity

We built one of the first compact IoT systems designed specifically for e-bikes, integrating camera, real-time data, remote diagnostics, and security in a single module. That system evolved through multiple generations, informing the architecture of everything we build today.

05

Rear Camera & Safety Systems

In 2016, we introduced the first rear camera system for bicycles. What started as a visibility tool evolved (through patented AI integration) into a full hazard detection and classification platform. That lineage runs directly into Hawkeye.

Patents

Skillion holds patents across multiple areas of cycling technology including AI camera systems, hazard detection, and rider safety interfaces. Our IP portfolio reflects the depth and originality of the work, and is a significant part of the value we bring to client engagements where novel technology is being developed.

Everything We Know. In One Product.

Hawkeye is our current flagship development, an AI-powered rear camera and hazard detection system for cyclists. It represents the convergence of every technology capability we’ve built: computer vision, edge-compute AI, hardware integration, and a decade of cycling safety insight.

220° field of view. 220 metre detection range. AI threat classification. Crash alerts. Built for the road. Coming soon.
